I know you're just the messenger, but it amuses me (/raises an eyebrow) that this transcript thinks the Shadowmen are speaking 'some unrecognisable language' in GID. In the episode as it aired I'm pretty sure they're just speaking Kiswahili.

But then this ep is really not great on its languages. We'll not speak about the decision that the Shadowbook's "Sumerian" should just be the English words transliterated into the Greek alphabet. *rolls eyes*

Heh. Yeah. Though depending on how early you think the Shadowmen were, it may still be fairly off for language. Mind you, given it's a freebie Buffyworld transcript, I won't be too critical. The shooting script, which I usually don't use as they change too much in transmission, clearly says Swahili, so I'll change this now for clarity.

It's very weird. I generally have no problem with them being Swahili and assuming the Slayer got created in the second half of the first millennium AD, even if it does ruin my fanon of classical slayers (frown), but there's no reason why the Old Ones mythology couldn't just be a load of rubbish. But the combination of Swahili and Sumerian is just really weird... If only show creators could think about poor fanficcers trying to claw a chronology together!
