Next week is Graduation Day Part Two week!
We made it! Let’s take a moment....
Thank you all so much for making this comm reboot a huge success. We truly can't do it without you, all our contributors, supporters and you fabulous commenters who keep the enthusiasm alive! We’ll be back with one last flash challenge, and we’ll soon bring you news of our summer hiatus and how we’re going to run with (*gasp*) two series to celebrate come the autumn.
It’s the finale of season three. A time of huge change in the Buffyverse. Mysterious hints of the future. Saying goodbye to old friends. Sunnydale finally faces its demons. And most of all: Giant Mayor Snake!
So, one last time, join us in posting your art, fic, recs, meta, vids and anything else you want to share with fandom that focuses on Graduation Day Part Two. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Some prompts to tempt your muse: optional as always
1. Special End of Season Challenge: The parting of the ways
Okay, after we’ve had a refreshing summer break, we’ll be back with season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and season 1 of Angel: the Series. Which is thrilling! But... it means our heroes are coming to a parting of the ways. (Sniffle).
Angel and Cordelia leave Sunnydale - forever, in Cordy’s case. Let’s have some celebrations of the gang together, or of these parting moments.
2. Theme of the week: Graduation
Mayor: "Well. What a day this is! - Special day. Today is our centennial the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Sunnydale. And I know what that means to all you kids: not - a - darn - thing. Because today, something much more important happens: today you all graduate from high school. Today all the pain, all the work, all the excitement is finally over. And what's a hundred years of history compared to that? You know what kids…?"
Buffy: "Oh my God. He's going to do the entire speech."
Willow: "Man, just ascend already."
Buffy: "Evol!"
Ah, high school... It’s time to leave you too. With a bang. Let’s say goodbye to Sunnydale High too. Demons lurked round every corner. Also wasps, ghosts and Principal Snyder. We saw tragedies, too many young lives lost, and a truly vicious fight over Homecoming Queen. Don’t even get me started on the Hellmouth in the library...
3. Quotes to remember: Because Brutti ma buoni cannot decide which of these sums up the episode’s wonders better:
Buffy: "There's something I'm supposed to be doing."
Faith: "Oh yeah. Miles to go... Little Ms. Muffet counting down from 7-3-0."
Buffy: "Great. Riddles."
*
Buffy: "So, am I crazy?"
Willow: "Well, 'crazy' is such a *strong* word."
Giles: "Let's not rule it out though."
Buffy: "You don't think it can be done?"
Giles: "I didn't say that. I might, - but not yet."
Cordelia: "I personally don't think it's possible to come up with a crazier plan."
Oz: "We attack the Mayor with humus."*
Cordelia: "I stand corrected."

*Special mod’s challenge. Anyone producing fic, art or (can it be possible?) meta on the theme of humus based fighting can request a special mod ficlet, drabble or even poem on a season three character, moment or issue. Because, who doesn’t love humus? Bx
