Next week is Choices week! posted early due to holiday commitments
Back to the building end-of-season plot. Be honest, do you remember this episode by its title? Maybe not. But you’ll remember Faith with her knife; the Mayor and Snyder in a darkened school canteen; Oz’s moment of violence at the prospect of Willow in danger; the hideous box of Gavroc (face eating spider monsters, yikes). It’s also the first episode where Buffy and Angel start to confront the future of their relationship - even if it is the Mayor who tries to make them ‘see sense’.
So, once it is Monday your time, join us in posting your art, fic, recs, meta, vids and anything else you want to share with fandom that focuses on Choices. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Some prompts to tempt your muse: optional as always
1. Quote to Remember: Faith finds her OTP
Faith: This is a thing of beauty, boss.
Mayor: Well, it cost a pretty penny. So, you just take good care of it. And you be careful not to put somebody's eye out with that thing, until I tell you to.
Faith: Any particular eyes in mind?
2. Fill in the Blanks: uh, who?
Joyce: I'm just so pleased that you have so many choices. Ooh, you know what? Your aunt Arleen and her family are in Illinois. I've got to call and tell them. Oh, Buffy?
Buffy: I know, you're proud of me.
Joyce: Ah, don't forget to put my earrings back in my dresser before you go out. Arleen? Hi! It's Joyce. How you doing? Listen, you are never going to believe where Buffy got accepted to school!
Okay, so Joyce has a family we’ve barely heard of. What do they usually hear about Buffy? Share a few family letters/phone calls/Christmas cards?
3. Theme to Explore: Buffy + Angel 4 Ever?
We see Buffy and Angel still happy in their relationship, but not unaware of the issues they face. The Mayor gets in on the act. Is he right? Is he only trying to distract them? Ignoring our knowledge of the upcoming AtS spinoff, what potential future(s) do you see for them at this point?
Mayor: Well, I wish you kids the best, I really do. But if you don't mind a bit of fatherly advice, I, uh, I-I just don't see much of a future for you two. I don't sense a lasting relationship. And not just because I plan to kill you. You two have a bumpy road ahead. ... You're immortal, she's not. It's not. I married my Edna May in ought-three and I was with her right until the end. Not a pretty picture. Wrinkled and senile and cursing me for my youth. Wasn't our happiest time. And let's not forget the fact that any moment of true happiness will turn you evil. I mean, come on. What kind of a life can you offer her? I don't see a lot of Sunday picnics in the offing. I see skulking in the shadows, hiding from the sun. She's a blossoming young girl and you want to keep her from the life she should have until it has passed her by. My God! I think that's a little selfish. Is that what you came back from Hell for? Is that your greater purpose?

Running late? Don't forget, there’s still time to post more entries for our previous Episode in Focus, Earshot. You have another week's grace, even if it’s not the focus from Monday!
We’ll be back with a flash prompt for Choices on Thursday.
