Episode in Focus: Tough Love
Life's tough for a Slayer, recently bereaved and trying to care for her little sister, who's acting out. Life's tough for Giles, wanting to help but afraid of doing too much to be a real support. Life's tough for a young doctor, sharing his body with a hell god, and losing. Life's tough for Glory's minion, who catches Giles in no mood for mercy. Life's tough for Tara when she has a fight with Willow and then Glory comes visiting… and now for Willow, who tries to avenge her girlfriend's tragedy but can't quite summon the dark. And life's about to get tougher for everyone, because Tara's spilling Dawn's secret to exactly the wrong person.

Key quote:
XANDER: Old saying. "A watched customer never buys."
ANYA: They would if they were patriotic.
XANDER: (to Willow) Okay, I'm goin' in. (to Anya) Patriotic?
ANYA: Yes. I've recently come to realize there's more to me than just being human. (proudly) I'm also an American.
GILES: Yes, I suppose you are, in a manner of speaking. You were born here -- your mortal self.
ANYA: Well, that's right, foreigner. (Giles gives her a look) So I've been reading a lot about the good ol' us of A, embracing the extraordinarily precious ideology that's helped to shape and define it.
WILLOW: Democracy?
ANYA: Capitalism. The free market depends on the profitable exchange of goods for currency. It's a system of symbiotic beauty apparently lost on these old people. (turns to look back at the customers) Look at 'em. Perusing the shelves. Undressing the merchandise with their eyeballs, all ogle, no cash. It's not just annoying, it's unAmerican.
GILES: Appalling. Almost as if they no longer think money can buy happiness.

Episode in Focus: Belonging
Cordelia has a bad-sushi vision and the world's least discreet bikini. Wesley has Daddy issues. Gunn feels like he's losing his roots. And the Host? Who is the Host, really? Because green guy #2 definitely seems to recognise him. Also, there's this girl called Fred, and something bad happened to her five years ago. Wonder if we'll find out what?

Key quote:
Landok: "The Drokken goes this way. The aura is strong. It's not far."
Host: "What do you want? A medal?"
Landok takes step closer to the host: "Krevlorneswath of the Deathwok Clan mocks me?"
Host: "Just the LA in me coming out, I guess."
Landok: "The same Krevlorneswath of the Deathwok Clan who refused the ancient tradition of hunting and gathering."
Host: "I'll let you in on a little secret, Landok. While the rest of you boys were out hunting I was down at the waterhole chatting up the senioritas, gathering a little love."
Landok: "Your cowardice even extended to the sacred joust."
Host: "For the last time: not a coward. I just saw both sides of the joust. (To Angel) How you're supposed to joust someone when you partially agree with their point of view?"
