It seems to me that this time at the bus stop, which seems to be random due to the fact that there is no bus, actually turns out to be specially given to Sam to figure out which way he wants to go. Does he need Dean? Or met beauty? This was enough time for Sam to realize that he needed Dean, which angered Meg. She thought Sam was already hers. Interestingly, the first girls of Sam were cute blondes, and then the selection of actresses changes dramatically - they become bright brunettes and this goes on until the end of the series. I wonder why? ))

Maybe it signals that he's starting to move to the dark side, though I suspect the casting team also began to recognize that Jared had better chemistry with brunettes. He has a type!:D He worked really well with Adrienne and Nicki, but I didn't necessarily get a feeling of sexual chemistry going on between them, whereas there were definite sparks with Sarah, Madison and Cara Roberts and I think that probably reflects a genuine attraction on Jared's part. Similarly, I didn't sense that Sam's relationship with Ruby 1 was sexual whereas it obviously was with Ruby 2. Now, maybe that was a dramatic decision on the show makers part but, on the other hand, maybe Jared just didn't fancy Katie Cassidy that way and he's just not good at faking it ( ... )

It seems to me that Azazel used Meg blindly. She didn't know what his plans were. This is evidenced by Meg's last call, when she says that "I could kill him", but Azazel forbids. At this stage, most likely it was important for Azazel that Sam and Dean were separated. Apparently he understands what effect Dean has on Sam and Dean is bothering him. And it is immediately clear that Meg is trying to take Sam away from Dean, she gets angry when he suddenly refuses. She acts with her feminine charms, but this does not help her. Well, as you correctly wrote, for the sake of the task, she chooses a vessel similar to Jessica

Yes, that's how I see it Meg's role too. Hence the significance of those lyrics from the song she's listening to when Sam first sees her:

Yes, I think it's true - they're using you
Yes, I know that it's true - they are using you . . .
How does it feel to be a puppet?
I know how it feels to be a puppet . . .
