I disliked the Osmonds - too many teeth, those big round faces. And even now, it's hard to forgive little Jimmy for Long Haired Lover from Liverpool. Why, Osmonds, why?! Leave my hometown out of your songs... 😂

Haha! My cousin’s crush was Donny! I never could quite see it. They seemed too “clean” or something. I preferred my crushes a little more bad-boy, maybe. But I sure remember the posters on my cousin’s walls and I even remember listening to her albums, although I think she was more into Donny’s solo career than the group. So funny to think back on!

I got over Donny very quickly. He was actually a better songwriter than singer, I think. He wrote a couple of very good songs. The brothers' albums were better, in general. They were very talented but, alas, only well known for the singles that were popular at the time, but nothing special. Merrill was the one who captured my imagination. His voice was quite exceptional. I confess my bedroom was also covered in posters, but they had the merit of covering the rather terrible wallpaper I'd misguidedly chosen to decorate it with :D

So interesting. I was inspired by a lot of stuff growing up. This challenge has reminded me that I actually wrote fanfiction for Mission Impossible, My Partner the Ghost (BBC show that had a different name, I think?), Dr. Who, and Roots, all before I was 10 years old. Of course we didn’t call it fanfiction in those days...
