15 January 2021: A Day in the Life of...

Yesterday I sailed through time and space in my comfortable, snug space ship. That is not, generally, a good idea. I could have walked circles around the peninsula that separates my kitchen from my living room/office, but I didn't. Reading on my comfy couch, the posts on my LJ, even the dinner I made myself were all the reasons (um...excuses) I ( Read more... )

It's good to know that your life is about as exciting as mine! I keep reminding myself that 'exciting' doesn't always equal fun.

You are lucky in the location of your house: your deliveries aren't obvious and blinking "Want me? Come get me." That isn't a problem now that I'm in an apartment, but for the decades I lived in a row houses that fronted on a busy streets, I often thought how disappointed any thief would be. Size 1X women's clothing, thyroid-replacement pills and blood pressure medication, with the occasional book they wouldn't want to read***: what ever they took would end up in the nearest trash can, I'm sure. ***Even my family call my reading choices, "Nancy books." That is not a compliment.

Excitement!

I used to get the White Flower Farm catalog years ago. I loved reading it. Thanks to your post I just signed up for a catalog.

I remember one catalog from them had the very first yellow peonies available. They were $300 per plant.

After years and years of White Flower Farms catalogs, i haven't had the heart to cancel them. In fact, I want to order a couple of house plants from them. I've already purchased a set of tables to display the plants on. Gotta peruse the catalogue sitting on my desk to get an idea of what I want to order.

Can you imagine buying a $300 perennial? If it died, you'd have to have a funeral for it. FanSee

That's what I would do, too, if it was left up to me.
