Pam, John, and I left Philadelphia on 31 October for a ten day trip to Panama. We spent the first three and a half days in Panama City before embarking on an UnCruise. My write up of those three and a half days is HERE.

I can't remember whether I knew about the new canal before the trip; I didn't read up on Panama before the trip. That's unusual for me.

As for seeing people vs. animals, I do try to see think of people as just a sort of animal. FanSee

Glad you enjoyed the trip. So many interesting things to see and experience, some of which you've shared with your photos.

Other things I didn't see were soda and beer bottles bobbing in the water or pieces of plastic film caught in the trees. I saw nothing to indicate careless, slutty people had been here before me.
Thank you for mentioning this. I'm happy to know there are still unspoiled places.

It took a while for the absence of trash to sink in, but once it did, I kept an eagle eye out, looking for it. Altogether I spent four or five hours in a skiff, and...zero.

The trip was a great experience and so different from any of the other travel I've done. FanSee
