Awww... this is so bitter sweet dearest fansee. On one hand I know you've been planning to 'downsize' and sell your house ever since your granddaughter moved out but on the other hand I'm sure you're SO attached to this place and it won't be easy. I've never even been at your place in person, only virtually but I could tell it wasn't just a house for you, it was a home.
Have you found a new place to live already? I hope you'll be able to update soon-ish.
Bittersweet describes my feelings exactly. I have good reasons to move...I hope to post about them soon...but I've lived here six months short of 35 years. Leaving isn't easy. So many memories are attached to this house (and it has been a home) but I'll take the memories with me.
I'm going for a second look at an apartment I liked tomorrow. FanSee
Does such a thing as any "easy move?" If it does, I haven't experienced it yet. I am going to pay others to do as much of the work as possible, but when it comes to unpacking...can anyone help with that?
Depends upon why you are moving. Yes, I've had easy moves, but because I was doubly motivated to move. We moved five times in four years, then then moved from Nevada to California. The last one here was the easiest. I had one box and I went from the apartment to the town house and emptied it, then went back and repacked it. (it was only three apartments from our old place. My husband was out of town and when he returned, all that remained was the heavy furniture, which movers took care of. Best move ever.
My pot now hangs out in the back yard where there are more hours of sun. I am taking a second look at an apartment I liked tomorrow, and if I decide on it, all my gardening will be indoors. The apartment is in a high rise and will not have a balcony. *sigh* There are compensating amenities, however. FanSee
