Marvelous Millennials and Their Achievements

Sometimes even I, a doting grandmother, am surprised by what my grandchildren achieve.

My grandson, Ryan, a graduate of the University of Delaware, age 28, posted the following today to Facebook. I think it's worth reading and thinking about:

I am so disappointed in many people right now with the Syrian refugee situation, but it has taken me a ( Read more... )

Your grandson gives me hope for the millennials. And really, every time some Fox News spawned sycophant rants about how awful the idea of letting the refugees in, I wanna yell, "You know those founding fathers you like to revere? They weren't native to this land, remember?' It's interesting. I work at an Indian casino, and was talking to my boss about it. He's pretty much like, yeah, well, we didn't invite those yahoos that took over our lands, now they wanna get huffy about who they let in?

It's amazing how afraid so-called grown men have become over this. Like I told my husband, you're much more likely to be shot by another American with a gun than you are to be killed by a terrorist. But, of course, you're more likely depending on your color, and I think that's what a lot of this is, just plain, old bigotry.

And kudos to Samantha! (except for that running of red lights, of course. *g*)

I hadn't thought about it that way, but that's so damn true. Way, way in more danger from our gun-totin' fellow citizens. Scares me silly.

Samantha is a piece of work! FanSee

Your grandchildren seem to be exceptional people. That means that they have good people in their lives, both you and they are lucky. :D
