Hiatus

Oy. The last time I posted was 25 July, almost a month ago. I've missed you all...I have, I have!...but the worst of it, from my point of view, is that I'm having a hard time recalling accurately what the hell I did during that month and the sequence of events. My LJ is a vital extension of my memory. Fortunately, I snapped some snaps along the way ( Read more... )

Thank goodness for photography, am I right?

I am s sorry your shoes went rogue on you. I sure hope they behave for Pam who, BTW, is wonderful.

I'd love to see the Barnes Collection. Maybe one day :) You know, I often see news about art shows in Philadelphia, I think to tell you but don't believing you are probably already in the know. Should I?

Your reunion with your Dunnett fandom buddies sounds like so much fun. I'm glad you've maintained their friendships.

Karen and Bruce's house looks very cute as does their dog. I love collies. I started a quilt for Lauren and never finished it. I hope you do better than I did :)

Heal well.

Yes, yes, yes, photography is wonderful in so many ways. I'm a bit addicted.

Pam is wonderful. She takes charge in such an efficient and pleasant way that it's tempting to rely on her too much.

By the way, if you hear of anything happening hereabouts, please tell me. I read the New York Times religiously, but only keep up with Philadelphia on Sundays.

I'm now supposedly working on bibs for baby-to-be, but finding it much harder to sit down and work on them in my own house where there's so much else I could/should/must do. FanSee

Glad you had a wonderful time. Summer travels over?

Did you expect Razor to do back flips? At least you got him to look into the camera. And Ziva...is Ziva.

Alas, my summer travels ARE over. xie_xie_xie is planning a QAF weekend in Michigan for this fall, so I'm reduced to hoping that comes off. And there's always Karen's. FanSee

No THONGS! Seriously! My foot doctor says they are, literally,
killing people. (I don't wear them, she was ranting about another
patient who broke her foot wearing them.)

What an ordeal! I was in the Prompt Care in July for my knee and
had a completely different experience, but I was in a suburban
area of Ohio on a Sunday afternoon; I had the place to myself
and was in and out in less than an hour.

I love Staunton. The Blue Ridge is beautiful.

No THONGS! Seriously!

I've worn thong sandals since I lived in Japan in 1952-53, and this is the first time I've fallen in them. Right now, my children are strongly against them, including Samantha. Since she lives on my third floor she is the Enforcer, and quite vigorous about it, too. We shall see how it plays out. Right now, I'm only wearing them inside the house.

I've been to this E.R. several times...it's right around the corner...both for myself and accompanying others. This experience was an outlyier. I believe them when they explained that they were short of providers. However, I do think somebody should have asked me how I was getting home. FanSee

I'm sorry to hear about your fall and ER experience. I'm rather shocked they didn't ask you about a ride home! Even for people we are young and not on pain medication, just the fact that it's the middle of the night should promptly them!

I'm glad to hear your visit with your friends went well. I love following along with all your adventures. :D

That baby quilt is going to be beautiful, what a sweet little elephant! Can't wait to see your progress, but I totally understand the schedule drift on crafty things.

I completely agree. Last October I was in Cooper Hospital ER, in Camden, NJ, and the ER was right out of MASH. I spent my whole visit on a gurney in a hallway lined with gurneys, all occupied. But, when they discharged me, they called me a cab (without being asked) and assured me that it was paid in advance, including a tip for the driver. He seemed more than happy to take me across the bridge to Philadelphia!

Right now I'm fighting schedule drift on the three bibs I decided to embroider instead. It's so much harder to sit down and sew in the middle of my own house where so much still could/should/must be worked on. Oy. FanSee

Totally understand the schedule drift. I don't know why it is so hard to keep crafty projects on track, but it always feels like it takes so much more effort to make continual, steady progress!

Firstly, loved the photos of Razor and Ziva. They are used to you coming and going now so they don't need to throw a song and dance routine when you return. I'm glad that your wrist is now okay but be careful with the shoes from now on. I personally refuse to wear thongs - or flip-flops as I think you call them.
Glad to see you hear.

Razor was quite cool to me for three or four days after I got home. He wouldn't sleep in my room, not during the day, not at night. He's over it now, however.

My children are with you all the way when it comes to thong sandals. Right now I am restricted to wearing them in the house. Unfortunately, Samantha is on site, acting as the enforcer. Oy. FanSee
