Much of the fanfic predicted seizures, which I thought was interesting. I was surprised Gamble and Co. had The Wall fracture so soon, but I also suspect this will teach the Bros. Winchester to LEAVE THE FLASHBACKS WELL ENOUGH ALONE, ALREADY! When Death tells you not to pick a scab, don't pick. Sheesh. So we won't see any more breakage for a while, until we stop looking for it. Then KAZOWIE. Tumblin' down, baby. *can't wait!*
I love a redemption tale. Let it get as dark and noir-y as it wants! It will make the turn-around that much more awesome. So says I. :D
Redemption is my passion! I wonder how bad it will get for Sammy -- he just killed like five guys... but I bet it will get even worse, and the flashbacks as well. ;_;
I supposed that Dean coached Sam pretty seriously about the 'Do Not Pick Your Scabs' policy. But yeah, these are Winchesters we're talking about here. They never leave well enough alone! (And we love 'em for it.)
Personally, I can't wait for the sh*t to hit the fan! I lurvs me some drama. Lurk in my posts any time; it makes my dust (and plot) bunnies feel all warm and squishy. ;)
It was an excellent ep. Superbly written - great monster (I, too, LOVED the contact lenses!) - strong strong acting on both boys' parts (Ackles was finally given truly funny lines the tone of which he just hits perfectly.) - and a very nice symbolic look into how "tangled" Sam's memories are going to prove to be. I hope...that this is just something that happens every other ep or so because it looks like the new writing team is making a great attempt at dark, mysterious and scary!
But the ep does leave Granpa with some heavy culpability, in terms of the way he didn't try very hard at all to curb Sam's coldness
No kidding, right?! No wonder Grandpa Sam said Sam's scares him sometimes. I think during that year of souless!Sam, Samuel must've been wondering what kind of kids Mary raised--I bet he was thinking if the younger brother is so psycho what must the old kid be like. :P I would be interesting to see an interaction between Samuel and real Sam now.
i doubt it was Webb
But Webb would've been so much more appropriate for this episode! Heh.
My sketchy memory for proper names amuses me... :P
I've seen elsewhere some people saying that Sam's "inhuman" behavior goes a long way towards shedding light on Samuel's opinion of Sam, in terms of his own duplicity.
