It's been some time since I checked this comm, and I just wanted to come on here and blab about how excited I am about some of the more recent casting decisions with my fellow fans. Anyone who feels like listening to me ramble, follow me over the cut.

The long story short is that it is still delayed. He still has one major structural problem to deal with and several partially completed chapters to finish. Now he's overseas for almost 2 more weeks, and has stated that he has over a month of Tivo'd football games to watch and the holidays coming, so the chances that he will finish in 2009 are almost none. I think an optimistic guess would be summer 2010.

ITA - all their casting choices have been great. I'm bothered when fans get all bent out of shape over 1 or 2 casting choices, especially if they are only basing their judgment on a few of the actor's web photos ( ... )

I'm actually okay with picking complete unknowns. Sometimes I think it's what a television series or a movie needs, and if you do it right it works really, really well, like casting Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher for Star Wars (and even Harrison Ford was only moderately famous in his pre-Star Wars days).

I didn't know that Lena Headey was the female lead in the Jungle Book film. That makes me like her even more. And yeah, "a very ripped teddy bear" sounds a lot like Sandor.
