VAMPIRES
- Regardless of ‘orientation’ (human eater or not), they need human blood to live. Good vampires may have willing blood donors; Evil vampires may or may not care whether they kill the human.
- Clans/Nest are the equivalent of the Teams in canon; this is a suggestion and not the rule for the character you wish to apply for (i.e. any given character can choose to belong the clan that suits his/her character development or choose to be human or hunter if the player wishes so).
- Do not burn in the sun but get weaker with length of time spent in the sunlight.
- Can be killed through decapitation or burned to ashes.
- Cannot turn back to humans.
- Can turn Hunters and Humans to vampires, making a blood bond. To be converted it’s necessary to be at the edge of death and being given some vampire blood to become undead.
- The older the vampire, the stronger they are but with age, the less their "immunity" to the sun will be.
Appearance
- Pale, ivory skin, scarlet eyes a few minutes after feeding before returning to normal colour
Abilities
- Basic control over one elements i.e. fire, water, wind, metal [except earth because vampires have no ‘soul’ thus cannot control ‘live’ things such as plants and animals]
- Low to high level of Compulsion on other race and fellow vampire. Not absolute, meaning as long as the person being compelled has any kind of mental fortitude, they should be able to shake it off. Immunity can be built but this will take time and strenuous training, with or without getting actually under compulsion; yet, manipulating anybody is considered a taboo.
- Since vampires consider human creations below their range, they will trust their abilities over the usage of weapons.
- Power + Compulsion are inversely proportional; the stronger the vampire ability, the weaker the power of compulsion and vice versa.
Facts
Vampires...
- Can enter any building they want; do not need invitation of the owner of the property.
- Can eat normal food but don’t need them as much as blood
Myths
Vampires...
- Can’t change into bats and do need sleep (and not in coffins... unless they’re into that ^_~)
- Will not die due to exposure to sunlight, but they are hypersensitive to it (i.e. they get weaker the longer they are under the sun)
- Silly stuff such as garlic, cross-shaped objects, holy water have no effect on them, unless the cross-shaped object was made by a specialist blacksmith or is a hunter weapon..
- Can’t turn animals into vampires (no matter how much you might have wanted a vampire hamster ^_~)
HUNTERS
- May have exceptional physical abilities and/or magical skills. They might or might not come from vampire linage.
- Not usually as fast or powerful as vampires but they can be with training.
- Not only humans or upper-humans are allowed to be hunters, vampires can hunt down their own kind (they should be careful of how they use their own weapons though).
- Vampire hunting might result in a very profitable job, since they keep whatever booty they can find from the vampires they kill or capture. Now, if only vampires will let themselves be killed easily...
Weapons
- Each hunter will be allowed up to two weapons: one normal weapon and a anti-vampire weapon (anti-vampire weapons nullify/weakens the injured vampire’s supernatural abilities and powers, leaving him/her with a human healing rate).
Hunter Association and Classes
- Gathered in an Association (not obligatory but encouraged)
- There are four areas of expertise in the Hunter Association: Warriors, Intelligence, Investigation/Espionage and Mighty Light.
Classes
- Slayer: basically trained vampire killers, great strength and speed.
- Intelligence: strategists, the battle managers that gather all the information regarding vampires, supernatural creatures and humans alike.
- Investigation/Espionage: they will endure the very risky job of obtaining information under questionable methods that might put in jeopardy their own physical integrity; they’re skilled in mischieving arts and trickery.
- Mighty Light: they are the most powerful vampire hunters; they are most likely to come from a very old linage of hunters or be exceptionally gifted since birth. They master all the areas of hunting.
HUMANS
- Are normal... really boring regular people ):
- They don’t have awesome powers... and are probably vampire bait more than anything.
- Can end up as a vampire’s pet and/or blood donor (maybe even willingly!).
- Did we mentioned they’re normal people with normal, human abilities?
- Probably have more-or-less boring lives.
- May be totally unaware vampires (or hunters) even exist. They probably live in walled cities “for their protection”. Authorities, of course, have knowledge of the vampire race and have formed an alliance with hunters for the safety of the human cities, where vampires are discussed as legends and myths or in private places where curious humans affirm about their existence and how that is affecting their current way of life.
- Working alongside/for Hunters or Vampires might result in a profitable and exciting career, but short lived. If living/working with Hunters, Humans will most likely turn somehow trained to fight vampires and in hunter magic; if living/working for vampires, Humans are most likely to worship them as gods.
- Vampire blood will give humans the vampire’s powers at some low degree and has addictive properties. Drinking vampire blood alone will not turn them into vampires, they need to be bitten and at the edge of death too.
- YEAH! BEING NORMAL! \o/
