Wow. I didn't realize it was that close to the anniversary of SG-1. :( I'm sad, too, but mainly for the closing of the franchise than for Atlantis ending. It really was time, alas.
BTW, if you didn't get into the movies...? Stargate Continuum is the epitome of everything that was good and right with the show. Anyone who was ever a fan needs to check that movie out. :D
Yeah. *nod* And someone on one of my lists said something about how surprised he or she was by how early this was being announced. And then I was like, "Well, SG-1 was cancelled two years ago, tomorrow."
I haven't seen it yet. I was supposed to go to the premiere in San Diego, but I felt like crap. *L* I'll check it out eventually. There are still quite a few eps of Season 10 I haven't seen.
~shakes head~ It's very surprising. I would say it gives them time to give the show a proper ending, but I heard because of the movies, they're going ahead with a cliffhanger. Which I think it just stupid. But, hey.
You definitely, definitely should check it out. :D So many of the reviews I've seen of it were by people who are just blown away. Old fans, new fans, people who were drifting away... the movie really pulled them back in with both hands.
And right now, I'm listening to the soundtrack! I hardly ever have soundtracks on as background music, but I've played this one back-to-back, over and over again, ever since I got it. :D
A cliffhanger? Oh shit. Yeah, that's really stupid. But that also gives them a built-in audience for the movies. *sighs* Just for the money. How nice of them.
Sweet! I will. Probably when it's on cable....Nice. Yeah, that sounds good. I'll check it out. The first reviews I heard weren't so positive.
I never got into any of the Stargates...Although, I feel like I would have loved all of them, if I had caught them from the beginning.
However, I do know what its like to miss a show... I still miss Buffy and Highlander. I can't say those shows inspired me, so much as they spoke to different aspects of my personality.
Star Trek the Next Generation...I always felt inspired by that show...and I kind of miss it too.
Ahh. The good ole shows... One day, I'll say the same thing about Doctor Who and Heroes.

So I'm sad, but not actually surprised.
