I must show this to my parents. They don't understand why I feel so comfortable about staying in fandom friends' hotel rooms, or going for car rides in fellow fans' cars while at con. This places it all in perspective.
beautiful! i doubt my mom would understand it, but it would definitly be worth a try. really. that is a wonderful description of what i do every waking minute of my life.
That's awesome. And deserves the 'home' icon. It's funny how I've started to think about Atlantis as home, as crazy as that sounds. It's where I hang out with all my best friends! Ergo, home. :)
SG is love. :) Be it SGC or SGA, it's all love. :) SG-1 is where I found myself, so I totally see what you mean with Atlantis being home. :) Even with all of those crummy fan flame wars in this fandom, it's given me much happiness and friendship. *snugs* And rekindling of friendship! I mean, egads! You, Wren, Cassi. Woow. People I had come to know before, but became true friends with because of SG.

That's typically if one delves too far into fandom, but it's true about everything.
Creepy to the eye of the beholder. :) Though, I must admit there are some realms of fandom I would rather not venture into, such as into the land of furries (befriending furries is perfectly fine), and certain kinds of fic which name escapes me right now.
Hehe. The bizarre analogies are some of my favorite things. Like it should mean something that Michael Shanks got inspired to act from MacGyver, seven years before he started on Stargate.
Sometimes those muppets -are- aliens. *glee* It's still a little odd to me that Ben Browder is in the SG universe. Kinda surreal.
And in some ways, the nutty things makes fandom all the more fun.

...often creepy
...a symptom of societal withdrawl when one becomes uncomfortable with the larger society
...a way to make sense of life through bizarre analogies, many involving muppets or aliens
...fun as hell despite all this.
Stay golden, Pony Boy.
