Thanks for sharing those quotations. I read the book when I was 6th grade and I remember being touched be the poignancy of her words. It wasn't for a class assignment or anything like that. I picked it up because I heard so much about it and I wanted to know others wrote in their personal journals. I even tried writing to a Kitty-type figure in my journal back then, but that only lasted a little while.
