"He's troublesome, disgusting and a cheater. I cannot even fathom thinking of him in any other way," Alicia said offhandedly.
"What if I told you he thinks you are beautiful?" Angelina asked.
"How would you know he thinks that?"
"I might have overheard him talking to Flint and Pucey about you."
"I'm sure he also mentioned he thought I was frigid and bitter."
"Now that you mention it..."
Katie elbowed Angelina before she could finish that sentence, silencing her instantly. Alicia's eyes narrowed and at that moment she knew her friends were up to something. She said her goodbyes and started to head to class when she bumped into the aforementioned Slytherin.
"Spinnet! Just the person I was looking for."
"What now?"
"Well, as you know the Yule Ball is almost here and I was wondering if I could be your escort."
"You're joking, right?"
"No, this is a serious invitation."
"Well, my serious reply is no. I'm boycotting."
"Why?"
"Why not?"
Alicia shrugged then excused herself. Angelina and Katie approached Miles when Alicia was gone. Katie didn't think it was a good idea to set Miles up with Alicia, but Angelina thought it was a brilliant idea. Angelina and Katie already had dates to the Yule Ball and that meant Alicia was the odd woman out. Angelina patted Miles on the shoulder and said, "She's a stubborn woman. I think you should try again."
"She hates me. I'm just wasting my time."
