Author's Notes: This story focuses more on Blaise than I wanted it to. I couldn’t shut these three up once they started making commentary on Blaise’s life. For Alina and Lawrence on the day of their birth (only a select few understand this); so that they may know how silly their father and his friends are.
“You’re an extremely depressing person to be around sometimes,” Theodore informed Blaise.
“Only sometimes?” inquired Draco.
“Well, yeah. He wasn’t like this before Weasley came into the picture. Next thing you know he’s skipping meals to meet with her in the alcoves on the sixth floor.”
“Whoa! I am not skipping meals. I only skipped one meal and I met up with her outside the Great Hall,” Blaise interceded. He was annoyed by the way his friends were exaggerating things.
“Blaise! Have you seen yourself lately? You skipping a meal is the equivalent of you fasting for a week.”
“You’re ridiculous Theodore.”
“I’m serious. Go weigh yourself right now.”
“I’d rather not.”
“What’s wrong Blaise? Afraid?” Draco inquired with a sneer. He liked poking fun at Blaise whenever he had the chance. He especially found it amusing when Blaise reacted with such…spunk, for lack of a better word. It was this spunk that made their interactions with each other worthwhile. They all had their qualities that the others enjoyed teasing out until they were either angered or amused. Blaise was the only one who typically felt both emotions in the span of three minutes. Draco did his best to manipulate Blaise’s emotions, but he wasn’t always successful. Theodore spent more time with Blaise and had the advantage of knowing more personal things about Blaise. He never brought anything up, which Draco admired because he knew things could easily get out of hand.
“I’m not vain. I couldn’t care less about things like weight,” was Blaise’s reply.
“Is that so? Well, when you’re too fat to fly steadily on a broomstick I don’t want to hear you whining or asking me to help you get back into shape,” Theodore replied.
“Hold on a second! Who said I was going to get fat?”
“So you do care about your weight!”
“I never said that. I just wanted clarification on your fat comment because as of a few comments ago the two of you were claiming that I was emaciated.”
“Haven’t you figured out we’re messing with your head by now?” Draco asked. A wide smile was playing along his lips. He wanted to hold it back, but couldn’t. He wanted Blaise to see how pleased he was with Blaise’s confusion, especially since it was caused by this conversation. As much as Blaise loved tricking his friends into thinking he was rattled by their exaggerated accusations, he excused himself so he could meet up with Ginny. As he exited the common room Theodore said to Draco, “We’ve lost him.”
“He’s a lost soul,” Draco added.
