Author's Notes: Warning: This story runs a little faster than I wanted it to. I did the best I could to make it believable. I hope it worked. Also I combined two separate fanfics into one.
The final stages of her love potion were coming to a close and she was extremely pleased with the results. The potion had bubbled over and turned pink just like it was supposed to. She had no one to thank but Rowena Ravenclaw for inspiring her to make such a mix. She had come across Ravenclaw's spirit one Halloween when she returned to Hogwarts on official Ministry business. She was flabbergasted by the fairness Ravenclaw still held within her. She knew she shouldn't be, but couldn't help it. She spent most her time asking Rowena questions about the after life instead of the actual work she was sent to do. She had always been fascinated by the topic and couldn't pass up the opportunity, work or no work.
Now, a week later, she held the potion in her hand she was wondering who to use it on. The only problem was that both people she had in mind were deceased.
She still remembers the stories her mother used to tell her about him when she was growing up. They met in school; more specifically during Transfiguration. The young Fabian Prewett had been paired off with Ms. Gwendolyn Vane. She was extremely reluctant to work with him because he didn't take his school work seriously, but Professor McGonagall refused to have them switch. Flash forward a few years later and this very same young man would turn into a hero as he fought off five Death Eaters alongside his brother Gideon.
It was a difficult decision to make. Who does she choose? The fairest woman she ever had the pleasure of coming across, who just so happens to be a founder of her beloved school? Or the war hero she grew to love through her mother's stories? It was a difficult decision to make indeed, but no one ever said she had to choose today. There was always tomorrow. The potion would still be around and for now she would need to settle for admiring them both from afar.
