Lavender went to the Astronomy Tower to meet up with Blaise. It was ten minutes before he was suppose to arrive. She wanted to make sure she was there when he got there. She didn't want to discourage him and he'd end up leaving. Lavender cared for Blaise even though she didn't understand why. He hadn't treated her like any of the other guys she dated. He actually listened to her concerns and spoke to her as his equal. Sadly, she didn't know that was the game plan.
Ginny decided to walk to the Hogwarts Lake for two reasons. The first reason is boredom. The second reason is because it's as far away from the location Blaise tried to arrange her to meet him at as possible. The last thing she wanted was to run into him. Unfortunately today was not her day to have her way.
"I see you're going to stand me up," Blaise told her.
Ginny didn't turn around to look at Blaise. She already knew it was him.
"I don't need your stupid apologies Zabini. You've played enough games with me and Lavender. So just quit it," she sneered.
Blaise neared her. "I don't think I've played as much as you think I have."
He put his hands on her shoulders and turned her around. When he was staring directly into her eyes, he stole another kiss from her. Ginny flailed her arms trying to get him off, but it had no effect. Blaise pulled her closer to him until he was almost crushing her body with his own. Ginny continued to resist and went as far as trying to bite him; nothing came of it.
By now it was ten minutes past the time Blaise was suppose to meet up with Lavender. She had a sneaking suspicion he was seeing Ginny and she swore revenge. Even if this meant ruining both of their lives forever. She stormed off and searched for them, knowing she would see them together. It's what she now came to expect from Blaise and Ginny.
Blaise let Ginny go. He smirked at her. "That wasn't so bad. Was it?"
"You're disgusting. You're suppose to be dating Lavender, but you're kissing me. Don't you have any dignity?"
"What is this word you use? This dignity?" he replied jokingly.
This sarcastic remark only further annoyed her. She swung at Blaise, but he ducked it. He walked behind Ginny quickly. When he was distracted she pushed him into the lake behind him. Blaise fell in with a splash. It was at that moment that Lavender and Theodore ran over to the lake.
"Zabini, what are you doing in that lake? Get out of there before you get yourself sick," Theodore warned, even though he didn't really care either way about Blaise's health.
"I can't believe you stood me up to meet up with Ginny," Lavender sobbed.
"He didn't stand you up to meet up with me. He stood you up to have a swim in the lake," Ginny replied.
"That's it! It's over Blaise. Over!"
Lavender stormed off into the castle. Ginny smiled. She turned to Blaise and said, "See this is what you get for playing games with people. Now you have no one to help you out."
"You dirty bitch. You'll get yours!"
"I highly doubt it."
Ginny walked away with no qualms about the situation. Blaise flailed around the lake and Theodore just watched him, amused by the situation.
"Are you going to just stand there or are you going to help me up?"
"You see I would, but I don't want to get my new robe wet."
"Nott!"
"Good luck."
Theodore left soon after. Blaise shrieked like a mad man trying to get Theodore's attention. In the end he was left to his own devices to get himself out of the lake. No one had known about his fear of water.
