lions_serpents Angelina couldn't shake the thoughts of Montague from her mind. She vowed to never return to his house again. She was glad he had helped her, but she would never admit to such feelings. No one would ever know about what happened that day. No one needed to know.
Soon it was Winter. All the time that had elapsed only made Angelina more and more curious. She wondered more and more about Montague and his intentions. She knew she couldn't trust him because he was a Slytherin and nothing good could come from people placed in that house. She found herself not caring about this. She was actually giving herself permission to look further into Montague's history.
She didn't find out much when sought out information about the Montague family. This infuriated her, but she decided that in time she would know everything she needed to know about them.
Later that day Alicia and Katie decided to drop by for a visit. Angelina was thrilled because she hadn't seen them in months.
"What have you been up to Ange?" Katie asked her.
"Nothing much," she replied. Just obsessing about Montague, she thought.
"It's been pretty dull around here lately. Why don't we all go ice skating or something?" Katie suggested. Alicia and Angelina gave Katie strange looks. Katie, who was a half-blood, had to explain ice skating to two pureblood witches that had never heard of it. When they finally started to understand what ice skating was both were quite curious as to how it worked.
"Ohh, that sounds like so much fun," Alicia squealed.
"Let's go," Angelina added.
Katie grabbed the two girls' hands and apparated away to her favorite skating rink. Upon arriving there Katie showed them how to properly put on their skates. She laughed as her friends struggled and ended up helping them put their skates on. Angelina and Alicia nervously clung to each other as Katie showed them how easy it was to ice skate.
"It's easy for you because you've been skating all your life," Alicia told Katie.
"You can do it too," Katie encouraged her.
Alicia took a deep breath and let go of Angelina. Angelina immediately grabbed a hold of the nearby wall. Katie started to skate backwards in order to give Alicia some room to skate. Alicia fell on her behind the minute she started to try to skate towards Katie. Both Katie and Angelina burst into fits of laughter. After a while Alicia was getting the hang of things and could skate on her own without falling too much. Angelina soon followed suit and Katie couldn't be any prouder.
"Now it's time to teach the two of you how to do some tricks," Katie told them.
Alicia and Angelina turned sharply in Katie's direction and gave her bewildered looks. Katie laughed loudly and added, "I'm kidding."
When Angelina got home that night her house was empty. Her parents had left her a note on her bedroom door stating where they were in case she needed to contact them. She sighed figuring she could use some time alone. It didn't take long before she started to think about Montague again. That night she fell asleep thinking about him.
The next morning she decided to head to Diagon Alley to browse the various stores. Fred and George's shop was an obvious stop. As she muddled her way through the crowd she felt someone grab her arm and tug her away from the shop.
"Hey," she protested. She turned to glare at the person dragging her away when her eyes fell on Montague.
"What are you..."
"Just follow me," he cut her off.
She didn't question him even though she wanted to. Soon he was pulling her into an empty alleyway where they wouldn't be interrupted by anyone. Montague released her at once.
"What did you drag me off for Montague? I was going to visit Fred and George."
"I needed to talk to you. Besides I don't suggest you go inside that shop any time soon."
"Why not?"
"You always were the curious one Johnson. No wonder you were sorted into Gryffindor."
"You always were the sneaky one Montague. No wonder you were sorted into Slytherin."
"You've wounded me," he replied sarcastically.
"Oh please," she replied, rolling her eyes.
"You'll thank me someday."
"I doubt it."
"Seems that ice has made you cold-hearted."
"Were you spying on me?"
"I call it careful observation."
"I call it stalking," she shot back.
"You say that like it's a bad thing. Besides I wouldn't be so quick to judge if I were you."
"What do you mean?"
"Let's just say that someone told me that a certain young lady was looking into my family history."
"What does that have to do with me?"
"Everything. I know it was you. You can't forget that kiss, can you?"
Angelina glared at Montague before pushing past him. Once again she started to make her way to Fred and George's shop. This time Montague didn't stop her. As she got halfway there she heard a loud explosion. The sound startled her and somehow she ended up on the ground. When she looked up she saw pieces of Fred and George's shop all over the place. The shop had been blown to pieces. People were running around frantically trying to either help people that had been inside the shop or find help for them. Women were crying hysterically as they held their children close. Men were making sure all their family members were present and accounted for. All Angelina could do was stare at the shop and tears began to form in her eyes. She looked behind her to the alleyway Montague had dragged her over to and caught a glimpse of him nodding before he apparated away.
