Looking for Psych recs, Shawn/Lassiter

Feb 22, 2008 11:25

I realize we don't really have enough folks in the comm yet to get  responses to these earlier posts, but I'm hoping people will go through tags when they join and leave responses to older posts.  Or maybe I'll just get lucky:)  Plus, you know, it doesn't hurt to have example posts ( Read more... )

fandom: psych, genre: happy endings, length: long

Links to all my favorite Shawn/Lassiter stories can be found here. There's a couple of depressing (but gorgeous) death fics, so take care!
If you're looking for long and with a happy ending, definitely go for pookaseraph's Quarter Life Crisis - one of the best Shawn/Lassiter stories, imho (link goes to the last part, with links to all previous ones).
regann wrote the fantastic Right Place, Wrong Time (link goes to the last part, with links to all previous ones). There's still one more part to go, but it's definitely worth reading.
Do you have any particular favorites? I'm always looking for good Shassy fic!

Dude! (And I totally get to say that when talking about Psych:) You are so awesome! And have made me so very, very happy!

Unfortunately I don't think I've read any Psych fic that isn't on your list, as my ability to find Psych fic has been shamefully limited. Well, except for What Happens in Freedom Stays in Freedom, which I'm assuming you've read and didn't like as it was one of the highly recced fics after this year's Yuletide. Just in case I'm wrong, however, here's the link. It's a little cheesy, a little hokey, a little over-the-top, and just a little snarky. You know, just like the show:)

And now I shall go immerse myself in the most depressing fandom to ever come out of a comedy...

Dude! I'm glad you're so happy :)
I did read WHF and liked it, but for some reason never got around to adding it to my favorites (this was before I got my oh-so-pratical del.icio.us) account. That oversight has been corrected, so thanks for reminding me of it!
For a show that's considered by most people as a mindless comedy (at least everyone I've spoken to about it outside fandom), it never seizes to amaze me how many gorgeous death/serious injury fics it generates.

No problem:)

It really is interesting to see how fandoms turn out, especially the smaller fandoms. For example, Fastlane fic is almost entirely kink, especially D/s kink. And there's nothing wrong with kink, but that certainly wasn't my first thought when watching the show.

Or SGA, in which a third of the stories are total AUs. Many of which feature the main characters as animals and/or plants!

Fandom is sometimes a strange, strange place to be...

You know, I was going to rec you The Case of the Missing Cockatiel, but somehow, I have the very strong feeling that you know that one already. And, you know, as it was written for Small Fandom Big Bang and you have this nifty icon there, I deduce that I'm correct in my assumption XD But I figure other people may come to this post, who might not know the story yet...

And I have another one as well... Heaven or the Highway Out of Town is great! I need to reread it after this (the cockatiel one too, btw).
Have a summary: After getting shot and having to shoot a suspect, Shawn hits the road but he's not going to do it alone.
It's not quite as depressing as it sounds. In fact, it's very, very awesome! And at times even funny :)

Hee! As I'm the organizer of the SFBB, yeah, I've heard of that one (written by the fabulous gryvon who also writes the code for the SFBB site, in fact!)

Ooo, and a fic I've never heard of, much less read. Thank you! This totally makes my day:)

XD Yes, that would do it lol
I've taken a gander earlier and I'm really hoping someone will take you up on your new Psych challenge.

Oh, awesome! I was half-afraid that you would know this one already as well :)

Actually, I have had at least one person who wants to take a stab at the challenge (though not for the SFBB) -- I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a nifty new Psych fic will pop up soon:)
