Well, I found the answer to your problem-while it's true that most fic is written badly, you're also in fandoms that are actually targeted towards those sorts of people!

For Trigun fics, I seem to remember the kink meme here on LJ had some good ones but I could be mistaken. And they're probably not the pairing you want... D :
