“Why did you do it?” Yuuri asked him, after the commotion Wolfram’s announcement had caused died down.
“Do what, Yuuri?”
“Cancel the wedding? Just before it started?” Yuuri released a deep breath. “Wasn’t it what you wanted?” Wolfram caught Yuuri’s questioning gaze.
“It was. But was it what you wanted?” That was the important part.
Yuuri was silent for a minute, and Wolfram, not wanting to disturb the moment, said nothing.
“I wanted to make you happy,” Yuuri finally said. His voice sounded tired and confused. Holding a smile back, Wolfram took Yuuri’s hands in his, lacing their fingers.
“You already do,” he whispered.
