Summary: Walter recounts the night before...
Walter woke up groggy.
What time is it? Why am I in this bedroom? My head feels…
Why am I naked? He never slept naked. It was never appropriate.
Unless…
And then, he remembered. He was naked. Kitty was naked. The bed was warm. Last night… her dress…. The way her hair had curled around her face - the pale porcelain of her skin in the moonlight…
He got out of bed as quietly as possible and fetched something to cover himself with. It was strange, really - they’d been intimate and yet he was unwilling to show himself to her in daylight, for her to see him for all he really was.
Are you still afraid of rejection?
And then she woke up, scattering his inward-looking thoughts.
“Morning.” Her voice was throaty, husky. Deliciously arousing. Walter felt himself stirring looking at her - her lips pink and swollen from his kisses, her chocolate-coloured curls tumbled from sleep. She held the thin cotton sheet to her breasts and he could see the swell of them beneath the fabric. He knew how her skin felt under the sheet. How her skin tasted.
Last night - it hadn’t been like the first time. The first time had been frail, careful, chaste….
This time she’d arched her back, scratched his. Curled her legs around him like a hot, tight vice. Sighed his name as he’d slid into her, one long, swift glide, like he belonged, like they belonged-
“Morning,” he replied, unsure of what to do with himself. Unsure of everything now, now that he felt…
Happy.
