In the beginning, there was Mr Chesterton. And Miss Wright.
“And this is our science teacher, Ian Chesterton.”
“Pleased to meet you, Mr Chesterton.”
“I look forward to working with you, Miss Wright.”
This quickly evolved into friendship. Ian and Barbara. Everyone knew that the second place you looked for either of them was the other’s classroom. You just picked it up.
Then that ordinary life was ripped away and they clung to each other, the only familiarity in a hostile universe. Neither of them noticed when Ian and Barbara became Ian-and-Barbara. It felt like things had always been so.
My first post to this community, I hope I followed all the rules. Too much HTML...scary.
