Summary: It’s just part of her nature.
Author's Notes: Procrastinating from study.
Being with Stacy sometimes… it’s overwhelming. Not just the emotions- Lisa’s been in love before, and she knows what to expect- but there’s so much secrecy behind it. Lisa can’t tell anyone about it- the risks are enormous.
Although there are rights to protect those in same sex relationships, it doesn’t mean that all will accept her and Stacy’s relationship.
And Stacy is married. And still has feelings for House.
And Lisa’s father… for so long he has waited for her to get married to a nice man, and have children before he passes.
Lisa’s used to hiding things. She’s not a secretive person, but she hides things well. This can just be another one.

Summary: There’s more to it than that.
‘Why won’t you tell your father?’
Lisa held her child close, watching her sleeping face, with her little mouth open and eyes closed.
‘He won’t understand.’
Stacy sat across from Lisa, her brow pinched, her hair falling across her face.
‘It’s a new world. This isn’t the 1930s.’
Lisa looked up and sighed. ‘He’s old, Stacy. He has conservative values. I can’t change that; I wouldn’t want to change that. It took him the whole nine months to accept I had a sperm donation, and even now he calls me every night, asking when I’m going to find somebody to settle down with.’
‘So?’
‘Stacy, you’re married. I can’t settle down with you. As much as I’d love to- ’
Stacy cut her off.
‘Then I’m sorry, Lisa. That’s just not enough.’

Summary: It’s never to late or early.
Lisa smells of strawberry and apple. A mix of different shampoos and conditioners. She lies on her left- away from Stacy, but she doesn’t mind- tucked into a fetal position, with her hands under her chin and her knees near her stomach.
Stacy’s hand moves down her side, Lisa’s white lacy nightgown reflecting the early-morning sunrise. It rests on her hip and curls around, before moving back up, cupping her breast.
It’s early- too early, probably, but Stacy awoke to birds chirping loudly outside the window after a storm. She was always a light sleeper.
Her lips brush along Lisa’s shoulder, her thumb rubbing slowly against Lisa’s breast. Kissing the side of her neck, she lifted her chin, whispering a soft ‘good morning’ in Lisa’s ear.
Lisa stirred slightly, her legs straightening some, before falling back asleep. Stacy’s nose brushed more of that strawberry-apple hair, her hand moving down to curve around Lisa’s stomach, before whispering another ‘good morning.’

Summary: Looking back far enough, one can forget the now.
In retrospect, everything is always clearer. Stacy knew that now.
It never could have worked out. Everything was such a flight of fancy. Exploring her sexuality (albeit at a late age). Discovering new possibilities.
She loved Mark. That’s why she married him. And she loved Greg, but in all his arrogance she couldn’t stay with him.
Lisa was… a woman. She couldn’t love a woman. She couldn’t love a woman who, although caring for her as much as she said she did, still accepted a sperm donation from somebody she had loved (and still loved).
It was just…
Impossible.
That’s all there was to it.
The hurt she felt as she drove home from Lisa’s wasn’t the feeling of her heart breaking. It was from betraying Mark.
At least she could fool herself into believing that.

Summary: A dream is a wish the heart makes.
The full moon seemed to light the whole room up. Charmaine lay in Lisa’s arms, suckling at her breast, her fingers curled around Lisa’s nightgown. She was gorgeous. Of course, all parents are meant to think that of their children, but… she was. That’s all there was to it.
Although still weary from giving birth, every inch of her body desperate for sleep, Lisa couldn’t stop looking at her new daughter. She wished Stacy was there to share the moment with her… to brush her finger over her soft skin, to admire her tiny toenails, to kiss her on her forehead… to just marvel at her.
Wishing on a star might make it true.

Summary: Once more.
In Lisa’s mind, love doesn’t end. Feelings may change, people may come and go, but that feeling that was there when that special someone entered one’s life remains. It goes on and on and on and around and around and around.
She loved her ex-girlfriend, Michelle. And although it ended, a feeling of passion still flared inside of her when she reminisced back. Her first boyfriend… although they broke under messy circumstances, she still felt a certain fondness when she heard him reporting the weather on the news.
She adored Charmaine, and knew that feeling would never end.
Stacy.
She loved Stacy. Over the years, the feelings grew stronger and her fingers itched to touch her, and her heart raced and in her mind, she longed to pull Stacy near her and never let go.
It was impossible. She knew that. Things had to end somehow. But the feelings still went around and never ended and maybe one day, things would go full circle, and Stacy would be hers again, like she was in the beginning.

Summary: Not now, please.
‘Lisa…’
Lisa yawned softly, fingers curling around her pillow. Just a little bit longer… no need to wake up right now.
‘Lisa, it’s time to get up.’
‘Stacy, shh…’
Stacy’s hand was around her shoulder, shaking her slightly. ‘Lisa, it’s nearly eight o’clock. You have to be at work soon.’
She didn’t want to wake up… didn’t want to come back to Earth… sleep sounded so much better. ‘Two more minutes.’
‘No, Lisa.’
Rolling over, Lisa glared bleary-eyed up at Stacy. ‘Unfair.’
Stacy snorted and threw her legs over the side of the bed and stood up. ‘I’m a lawyer, it’s my job.’

Summary: There’s so little time to express emotions.
Her mother had a strong spirit. Even to the end, when her life was slipping away, she still held her pride and head high. She refused to be seen as weak. Even though Lisa always looked up to her, sometimes she wondered why her mother never let anybody see her weak. It wouldn’t be a bad thing… when your health is gone, what else is there?
Lisa wrapped her arms around herself, wiping away her tears and running make-up. So long, and still she cried. Cried for her mother, cried for her unborn child and cried for Stacy. Stacy, who wasn’t House, but still refused to be seen as weak when his health was deteriorating all those years ago.

Summary: Just a bit of late-night fun.
‘This really isn’t healthy.’
Stacy bent over her TV dinner, stabbing at the over-cooked peas. ‘Probably not,’ she replied as she shoveled it into her mouth, ‘but it’s easy.’
Lisa licked her lips, reaching for her tall glass of water and trying to get the food down without tasting it. ‘Easy, but unhealthy and disgusting.’
Snorting, Stacy threw a pea at Lisa. ‘So? Are you in the mood to cook something?’
Lisa tossed a pea back at her. ‘We could order take-out.’
‘And eat something even more unhealthy. C’mon, it’s one night out of possibly hundreds for you. It won’t kill you.’
Trying to avoid another tossed pea, Lisa rolled her eyes. ‘I’d rather not try,’ she said, before unceremoniously tossing the entire tray at Stacy and ran to the bathroom.

Summary: Dinner never was an interesting meal.
The water was cool as it ran down her body, her head back, hair flat against Stacy’s shoulder. Her stomach was gurgling from the dinner, but it didn’t matter. Stacy’s hands were roaming her body as she swallowed the water that came from the showerhead.
Stacy’s lips moved down her shoulder, her hands over her breasts and stomach, moving between her legs, a soft sigh escaping from Lisa. She arched into her hand, her eyes shut tight, her toes curling into the cold tiles and water around her feet. Stacy’s breath was hot against her skin, moving around slowly. Lips between Lisa’s breasts, a tongue across a nipple, fingers moving slowly between her legs, knowing just what to do without any words.
Lisa’s hand moved to the wall as Stacy continued down, remaining quiet- she never did make much noise- the water coming down her neck in rivulets. Her hair curled around her arm and back, locks across her chest. Stacy’s mouth moved up her thighs, nudging to where her fingers were, tongue out and teasing ever so slightly.
The water was becoming colder, and, desperately, Lisa dropped her hand to Stacy’s head, croaking out ‘bedroom’ before turning the shower off and picking her up. Hands around her waist, kissing desperately as the staggered and slipped to the room, ignoring the cooling dinner splattered on the couch.
