When had it happened?
When had he stopped looking at the man as a tool for him to manipulate.
When had he stopped considering him simply as a means to an end? To obtain what he wanted to further his own status and ranking.
When had it happened that he’d taken a moment and really seen; looked beyond the title, the authority, the austere façade that was presented to the Coven. When had he managed to put aside the title of “Elder” and seen the man behind the mask of ruler. When had he realized the man was so much more then everyone thought.
Now Kraven couldn’t stop watching, now he studied; now he was no longer content with simply observing. Now he wanted more and more he would have.
