I went up to the lady at the counter and greeted her with "Grüß Gott!" and I thanked her later with "Merci!"...both of which was such a give-away about being Bavarian.

I had to think for a minute, because I thought I heard that "Grüß Gott" was more of an Austrian greeting, but then I remembered that Bavaria was close to the Austrian border, so I can understand why people there would use the term. ^_^

I'm glad you have a lovely time in Cologne! As always, I enjoy looking at your pictures. Man, I need to plan a trip over there...First I need to find somebody to stay with! *cry*
