Progress on Irish Hiking Scarf

Lana Grossa Bingo #43, 4.5 mm circ

The Knitting Olympics has started last night! I decided to start on the Irish Hiking Scarf first because it's just basic cable and won't take too much effort....since the other scarf's going to have laces in it. Not that much progress last night because I was spending the time growling at our neighbours above us who were having some kind of a party and it really annoyed me (they didn't give any notice beforehand - to which I'd have been okay).

Any how, I decided to pick up something else already on the needles to do at about 11.30 p.m. O.o And here's the result:

Moss Stitch Hat for Mum

Lana Grossa Bingo Print #317, 5 mm circ & dpns

YAY! Yup, that's the hat that's going to be a surprise Birthday present for my mum (no, she doesn't know that I have blogs so she won't see this).

Now, if I may remind you the fact about this hat, HERE. I intended to do cables on it...which I had started out to do and just left it lying around for a bit more than a month, just because I really had no idea how I should proceed.

Well, two days ago I decided to frog the thing down to the ribbing and just do something simple with the hat body. I ended up doing the moss stitch....and finished the thing within two evenings! (Even though I sat there doing the decreases and finishing it off last night from 11.30 p.m. to 01.30 p.m.!)

I'm really satisfied with the finished hat....I mean, I felt really accomplished that I managed to frog the hat down to the ribbing and re-inserted the circs (I had transferred it on to dpns in January to do cables) and started to knit again without twisting a stitch! (Well, to be honest I de-twisted all the twisted stitches) So, I can be pretty happy with myself! *Yay!*

The only thing I have to hope for is that my mum's going to like it. (She wears a hat to bed because she sleeps in an air-conditioned room)

BTW, did I mention that this was my very first hat?
