Just thought I'd pop in real quick to say Hi!  The getting up at 2 a.m. is over, thank goodness.  And T's doing mostly better, but we're (meaning me, Chriss, and the Joslin center) still not totally happy with his blood sugars.  We're giving it until the end of the week before we decide if we need to make any further adjustments.

Chriss and I went to the Joslin Center today to take a three hour long class on the insulin pump.  It's just an orientation class.  Ever since we showed the dr. the program Chriss wrote to calculate T's insulin dosages, she wanted us to take the class to see if the pump was something we'd be interested in.  Wow did we get overloaded with ( Read more... )

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate diabetes?  How about how much extra work and worry is involved when your diabetic child is sick?  Even if it's something as simple as a cough/cold?  How about when it's with a child who runs a fever for everything and also throws up whenever that fever reaches above 101 which is every time he gets a fever which ( Read more... )

I can do it myself:  Today I had to drive to Syracuse and back all by myself to take my son to the Joslin Center for his checkup.  Even when I lived in Liverpool (just outside of Syracuse) during the first nine months of my marriage, I never drove to, in, or around Syracuse.  My husband did it all.  Why?  Because Syracuse is a big city.  And big ( Read more... )
