It's ten minute to 2 a.m. so what on earth am I doing making a post?  Especially when there's a great chance it won't make much sense?  Well, I've gotta stay awake for another 15 minutes and since it's almost 11 where my parents live, I figured they're either heading to bed or already there and could do without me calling them up for the sole ( Read more... )

Thank you. He was high enough after I posted this that I gave him his 1/2 unit and we both went to bed. Then after what felt like 5 minutes, he woke up screaming that his nose was running (it was actually 6 a.m.) I handed him a wad of tissues and went back to bed until 8 when the alarm went off. He was still sleeping. We checked his blood, he was a bit on the low side. But his fever is gone and so are the ketones. He's might cranky but that's from being low (he's eating breakfast now), being tired, and still having a runny nose/cough. But just the fact that the fever is gone tells me the worst is over.

Oh, this does sound exhausting. I'm so sorry you and your sweet little boy have to go through this. I hope he's completely well soon. Hugs to you both.

Thank you. I do believe the worst is over. It's now mostly the sinus stuff.

Oh I hope he's doing better today! I'm glad you made this post because when I don't hear from you one way or the other I start to worry. (((hugs and prayers)))

His fever is gone now. It's mostly just the sinus stuff left. I tell ya, once he's old enough to understand just how much work it takes to keep him alive (who knew a simple cold or whatever this is could be so dangerous for him if we don't REALLY keep on top of things?), he better be grateful. Not that I resent having to do all this for him. I'll do whatever it takes to keep him healthy, but it's still a lot of work and I hope he appreciates how much we love him when he realizes this.
