Moving update

Mar 12, 2012 11:12

It's been a crazy madhouse here the past few weeks.  Aside from the normal routine of home school, errands, church responsibilities, and (for my husband) work, we've been busy scheduling appointments, getting together with friends we'll miss when we're gone, going through and getting rid of the remainder of the stuff we didn't declutter when ( Read more... )

life changes, getting antsy, my crazy life, are we having fun yet?

Moving is hard. I remember eight years ago when I move here from Madrid I cried the last time I closed our home there, so many memories, so many friends.
But this time has taught me that changes are for good, who were real friends are still there and we visit each other and life is really better.
I hope it works that way for all of you!:)

Yeah it is hard. This is my 8th time moving. But you're right, it does show you who your true friends are. I have friends from moves when I was a teenager that I'm still in contact with. It's nice to know that no matter how much time goes by, whenever we reconnect, it's like we were never apart.

Good luck with the move! I must say I'm actually jealous that you are having movers come. When we moved (not quite as far) we had a 6 month old, me driving our car and Daniel driving the moving truck. Although we did have all our stuff when we got to our destination 4 days later.
One suggestion - pack a box of stuff that you'll need before the moving truck gets there (some basic kitchen stuff, a few of T's toys, etc) and mail it to yourself. It will make life much easier.
I'm excited that you'll only be 2 states away instead of a whole bunch (sorry, not willing to pull out a map and count.) You should plan a trip here in August ;).

All my other moves have been us doing everything ourselves and it sucks. So I'm very glad that we have movers this time. Although when we leave our temporary housing, we'll be on our own again.

I've already figured out that driving, we'll be 12 hours from my family SLC, so add another 2 for you. I don't know about August since we might be in the process of closing on a house (if ours sells by then. I hope so!), in fact I'm not sure we could afford a trip at all this year. But next year, I would love to go see everyone in UT and you can bet we'll make a trip out for the Vernal area to see you and your adorable family whenever we're there. I wish we could come out in time to see your new little one though. And hey, what a cool birthday that'd make for both of us, huh?

Thank you! I could definitely use that. Now if only my house would sell!

Definitely. I'm so excited for our new adventures, but saying goodbye to everyone this week has been so hard.
