Fall Colors

The weather was finally decent on a day when I actually had time to go out and take pictures of the fall colors.  These are all from the nature trail I walk/bike on, the Erie Canal bike trail, and the tree in my front yard.  Enjoy!

Beautiful! I love sweetgum and red maples. The Russian root for "red" is the same as the one for "beautiful," and I think there's good reason for that!

Then you must never have experienced a NY winter. :P Endless grey skies, way too much snow (I hate snow), and freezing cold. It's so depressing.

I've been here for 9 years and it never ceases to amaze me how gorgeous it is during the fall. I'm used to living out west in deserty areas where all you really get is yellow and brown.
