Valentine's Dance, Town Hall, Saturday Evening

This year's Valentine's Dance lined up so well with the upcoming Carribean Spring Break that there was only one choice for a theme: Love In The Islands. How do you get a party boat feel in an island dance party that takes place indoors? With a dance barge! Which is exactly the same thing as the regular dance floor, but you use your imagination to pretend that it's on the water.

"So bossy," Isabela replied cheerfully, resting her free hand on Ada's hip. "I thought it was the captain's job to give the orders."

"Th' captain's gotta take a break sometime," Ada laughed, happily cozying up to Isabela. "That's what she's got a first mate for, t' take charge every once in awhile."

"Yup. I mutinied for a dance," Ada said cheerfully, putting her hands at the small of Isabela's back. "Who knows what'll inspire me next?"

"I just don't know how to respond to such betrayal," Isabela said, though letting her fingers go wandering over glittery skin seemed a good start. "A girl gets a little power and it goes straight to her head."

"I think you're respondin' just fine," Ada laughed. "I think just a little bit of power looks good on me, don't you?"

"Just the power?" Isabela asked, all innocence. "You'd look ravishing."

Ada pretended to think about it for a moment. "Maybe not just the power..." she mused, letting go of Isabela's waist long enough to hold up one slender wrist, which had a gold chain and what could be a rather familiar charm on it. That oh, say, she'd been given last year. "A girl has to accessorize, you know."

WHAT? It wasn't like most people at the dance were going to look closely enough at her bracelet to realize what she was wearing!

Isabela grin was all teeth as she caught sight of the charm, but you know, in a friendly way.

"Power and gold is definitely a look for you," she said, reaching to try and bring Ada's wrist to her mouth.
