The Docks, Thursday

The weather may have been dreary, but that didn't seem to bother the woman standing on the docks by the gangplank of the ship bobbing slowly with the waves (well, maybe not entirely with the waves, if you were paying attention). Then again, nothing much had bothered the woman for a long, long time. Not since before she'd been less and more than she ( Read more... )

Isabela wasn't the only one out here, nor the only one that was hungry.

She spent most of her time haunting the boardwalk, but the whole coast of Fandom was hers to hunt (lurking just off the shores of the Park was always fun), and every so often she'd find herself here. If you asked her why, she wouldn't have an answer for you, and not just because she no longer had human vocal cords capable of speech.

Just outside of Isabela's range, she drifted. Sometimes diving after something to eat, sometimes surfacing to float for a bit and let what weak sunlight made it through the fog shimmer over her scales.

The woman smiled without Isabela having to consciously manipulate the expression the way she did for other passers-by, and moved down to the far end of the dock so Isabela could watch her drift by.

It was hardly as satisfying as luring someone tasty onto her decks, but pleasant in its own unexplainable way

Sadly, murder and destruction weren't an option every day. Some days it was the little, not-murdery things that were pleasant. Like a beautiful (for Fandom) ocean day and a fresh fish or two.

Mind, neither of them would be upset if someone was lured in by Isabela's wiles. She'd just eaten someone yesterday, so it wasn't as if she'd be going after something else's prey. Besides, sometimes just watching another predator hunt was just as satisfying.
