Kanan had been undecided about coming to chaperone this thing right up until basically that morning, when he'd run out of rum and really had nothing better to do for the rest of the day anyway.

Upon scoping out the offerings at the food table, he decided that he had clearly made the right choice. Still, he was pacing himself. Even if getting drunk on the job actually seemed like a decent way to try to get out of inexplicably having a job here in the first place, his talk with Eliot yesterday had made him reconsider. Sort of.

He was alternating between booze, punch, and squinting at the glitter that was moving around, wondering if the punch had been spiked after all.
