Groovy Tunes, Saturday
Right, so, Jono had been a snake for the past week, apparently he'd missed an invasion, and today was graduation. And, to top it off... well, he wasn't looking out past the beach, blast it. It was deeply unfair, so far as he was concerned, that the island had parked itself in a locale where everything was edible.
Adding insult to injury was the fact that the stereo was acting up again. Or, at least, he thought it might be acting up. Maybe it had just tuned in to one of the new mainland's local radio stations. Songs like Lollipop, I Want Candy, Strawberry Fields Forever, and Sugar, Sugar had been playing all bloody day.
He wasn't blowing up the stereo today by virtue of the fact that all of these songs were at least pretty catchy. So, at least there was that.
That said, it was somewhere in the middle of Candy Girl that Jono found himself thumping his forehead against the counter.
