Jessica was just checking things out when she saw the lights on over at the old workplace after LO THESE MANY YEARS. Or months. She decided to check this thing specifically out.

"This place opening back up?"

Drama queen. God.

Tony popped his head up from behind a counter, a screwdriver between his teeth. "Huh?"

"That makes sense. A Tony Stark can't be here too long without wanting getting his place up and running again," Jessica noted. "How's it going?"

"I'm an original Tony Stark, thank you," Tony replied, brushed dust off his shirt as he stood. "A few updates and this place will be fine."

[craftyladyparts]

"I'm glad to hear that," Jessica said. "I worked here back in high school. It'll be nice to see stuff happening here again."

"Huh. Was it busy?" Yeah, it was a real happening place, Tony.

[craftyladyparts]

"There were tech nerds working here every day of the week, working on their own stuff and some repairs. It wasn't the busiest place, but I always seemed to have an alarm clock to work on at the very least," Jessica said.

"Why an alarm clock?"

[craftyladyparts]

"I don't know. People break a lot of alarm clocks around here. I guess they hate mornings," Jessica said with a shrug.

Mornings were the worst.

"You're not looking for a job, are you?" Because if he ended up repairing alarm clocks, those alarm clocks might end up flying.

"I already have one with the Fandom Troopers," Jessica said. But before she could shoot the offer down, something occurred to her. "But there are plenty of hours in the day. How do you feel about people taking on potentially disastrous projects of their own?"

"Poorly." He preferred to be involved in the disasters. Just ask Reed. "Unless I get to work on it."

Seriously. Ask Reed.

Still no interest in asking Reed anything. Ever. Even if he did recently help save her world.

"My world went missing when I was in Fandom. I haven't been able to contact anyone there, Portalocity's been no help and stopped taking my calls, and I have some experience with portal tech," Jessica rattled off. "Wanna build a portal strong enough to let me know what happened to my world?"

Tony blinked at that. "Yes. Yes, I'd like that."

Somewhere... Pepper was braining herself on her desk.

"In that case, I'm here to work. Just not Thursday. That's the day I have to make coffee at the station," Jessica said. And whatever else the Troopers were needed for on a weekly basis.

"I don't know. Place seems to be filling up," Tony replied dryly.
