The beach- Wednesday morning

Apr 29, 2015 09:20

Sia still had a little time before her portal out, and with everything packed up from her room it was too boring to stay there. So instead she came out to the beach to wait, letting Vitor play around by the water so maybe he'd handle dealing with portals better later. And then she sent off a quick text to let people know where she was, and sat in ( Read more... )

So, yeah, Atton? Not in Fandom at the moment. Very much not in Fandom at the moment.

To be specific, he was currently crammed into a hidden compartment on board a pirate ship. Normally, he wouldn't exactly be in the mood to respond, but 1) Sia never texted him, and 2) he was bored. Really bored. It'd be hours before they got where they were going.

Beach, huh? I hope the weather's nice.

Okay, so it wasn't the most exciting text ever.

Hey, boredom was why she was here!

It isn't terrible. Are you not around to look out your window?

Nope.

Okay, he realized a second later he should probably elaborate on that a little.

So, did you know that when your government is terminally unstable, lots of pirates pop up on trade routes?

Uhhh, this was probably not going anywhere good, huh?

Yes, actually. Should you be texting right now?

I'm currently crammed up between several bags of high-grade street drugs and what I think is a very expensive closet originally meant for the Queen of... somewhere, Atton wrote. Nobody's going to find me here until they stop off at headquarters at the earliest. You enjoying the view?

Yes. Are you?

Ah, teasing via text.

Yes, it's everything I've ever wanted in a dank, damp storage compartment full of glitterstim. Occasionally I even get to see the underside of someone's dirty boots.

Not now, though. He'd shifted so at least the light of the phone was blocked.

On the plus side, you're having a more interesting day than I am.

Oh, you're going to have your fair share of interesting days soon, I'm sure. Sith have a habit of causing those.

True. Those days will probably also require bandages...

Only if you don't do it right, Atton texted. ...Okay, scratch that, I do it right all the time and I still wind up with bandages. Just don't get yourself stabbed anywhere lethal, all right?

Not everyone bounced back the way he did.

... Actually, only one other person came to mind who bounced back the way Atton did, and he'd had to be talked into laying down and dying.

I'll do my very best. I'd like to avoid that myself, personally.

Good.

Atton eyed his phone. Well... if he couldn't ask now without getting the animal foisted on him, when could he ask?

So what're you doing with the dog?

He'd kind of talked her into the dog back in the day, so he was curious.

He's coming with me. It's going to take some maneuvering, but I couldn't make a convincing enough argument to leave him behind.

She loved her dog, dammit.

Dog on a starship, huh? You could train that guy to be something terrifying some day.

I could. But I won't. He should however be trained better for these situations, and for protection. He's too sweet to be made terrifying.

Because everyone was the best person Vitor had ever met.
