Everything was neat and orderly in the post office this morning when Éponine arrived: no ominous-looking packages or inexplicably random bulk deliveries, no sudden explosions of packaging material all over the supply room, no phones ringing off the hook.
That was suspicious.
Which meant that when she went to start sorting mail into post office boxes and was met with a Slinky avalanche from the open box doors, she wasn't even remotely surprised; she just rolled her eyes, sighed in resignation, and waited for the Slinkies to stop falling before she went on with her work.
Paranoia paid off sometimes.
