A high time was always to be had at George's Gin Joint. Barry "The Brain" Ween always made sure of that. The liquor was always pouring and the casino was always dealing and spinning depending on your choice of games

Joker was at a blackjack table, drinking and gambling away what little money he had. Maybe he'd drunk a little too much.
"What, it's a free country, isn't it?" he said, confrontationally, to a random person who he thought might have looked at him funny. "I fought to make this a free country. I gave my legs to make this a free country." It was true enough, as these things go. He was too young to have actually fought for freedom in the Great War, but he'd done his share of oppressing people in the Caribbean. And his legs were still there, he'd just never walk without pain again. "So I can drink as much as I wanna drink. You got a problem with that?"
"Thank you, Doll," Joker snorted. "Thought I'd left 'em in my other pants." He sighed, and gestured at her with his drink, spilling some. "You wanna call these useless sacks of meat 'n bone 'legs', you go right on ahead. Face as sweet as yours, you do anything you want. But I'll never run again. I'll never walk again, not without crutches. Docs say I should be glad they didn't amputate. I say, they're all hacks! HACKS!"
Dinah was there. Right now she was working two cases at once: the Death of the Black Canary, and the Disappearing "Brother." Her eyes were open for hitters and Boz, and making sure Vic Moretti didn't have reason to take her in.

"Are you the guy in charge?" Dinah didn't have a complaint, but she did have a question. Another one, after that first one. Probably followed by even more.

"Mostly just 'cause I want to talk to someone who knows this joint. This island. These people." She grinned, and slapped down her photo of Boz Priestly. "Seen this mug in here before? or around?"

"What are the charges?" Dinah asked, putting down her drink, and looking for the exit.
