StuCo had taken inspiration for tonight's decorations from the Sixties and Seventies, or at least the pop cultural osmosis version thereof. Peace symbols and floral designs in various shades of fluorescent glitter paint covered the most walls, with paisley patterned drapes and wall hangings over what was left. Arrive and Mingle - Prom 2014 I shippedtomaine April 5 2014, 12:37:07 UTC
Get your flower crowns! Show off your groovy duds!

StuCo has 'helpfully' provided tie-die shirts and fringed jackets for anyone who wants to change their outfit to fit the theme without going back to the dorms.

Jessica was wearing a flower crown, yes, but she was sticking to the dress she got for tonight, thank you. It was a few steps beyond what she typically wore to dances, but she felt like a different person than she had been at other dances, too.

Also, she was confident that the black dress would pick up some glitter to make her sparkle during the night. It was a fitting tribute to her year as President.

"You look lovely," Eleanor said, greeting her friend with a smile. "And the crown goes nicely with your dress."

Eleanor had skipped the crown, since she already had a flower clip in her hair.

"Thanks, Eleanor," Jessica said. "You don't look half bad yourself. That's a really nice dress."

[OOC: FYI, I can't guarantee I'll be awake much longer. It's been the longest damn week. SP okay?]

All the backdrops are (glittery) variations on paisley. You're welcome.

Eleanor couldn't believe she'd actually won the argument about the tie-dye shirt. But here they were, Joker's suit still intact, in front of a horrible paisley background, posing to take pictures.

Joker had insisted on making ridiculous faces for some of them. Which was perfectly fine by her.

He'd ALSO insisted on a picture of them kissing. And not just because of how long the kiss would have to last while they were posing. If he was going to have pictures to remember the night by, he wanted them to be good.

Food & Punch - Prom 2014 I shippedtomaine April 5 2014, 12:42:57 UTC
The food here was the usual Fandom spread, sense having prevailed after they actually looked at a cookbook from the era in question, the only nods to the theme being plates of (undoctored) brownies, and numerous bowls of Jell-O.

At this point, the punch remained unspiked.

Jessica settled in near the punch for the moment. Tonight was a celebration as far as she was concerned and she was going to dance and enjoy herself and all of that.

But she also wanted to make sure she had her share of punch before the spiking happened. Call her crazy.

"Is the punch still safe?" Victor checked, eyeballing it as he dipped in to fill his cup. "Or did someone decide to go full Woodstock and spike it with acid?"

"So far so good," Jessica said. "But I can't promise it'll be that way all night. And I'm a little worried that once it is spiked, it's gonna be VERY spiked."

Eleanor had been hoping they would manage at least one dance, since it was a dance, but was now concerned that that was far too much pressure.

"This can be a very short dance," she worried, as they made their way to the dance floor. "In fact, I don't actually need to dance, if you'd rather not. We can lounge somewhere and look elegant."

"Nuh-uh," Joker told her. "I went easy on Cecil in the race yesterday just so I didn't accidentally bang myself up before tonight. We are dancing, and that's that. I'll let you know when I need to sit down."

"All right," she agreed, slipping her arms around his neck. And leaning forward, to rest her forehead against his. "Is that too much weight?"

She was trying not to put weight on him. It just felt nice, being even closer than last time they'd danced.

Shadowy Corners - Prom 2014 I shippedtomaine April 5 2014, 12:46:54 UTC
Less dark than usually thanks to all the blacklight paintings.

Sorry, not sorry.

The shadowy corner worked well enough for Loki. Though the painting of the sad clown was deeply disturbing.

It's sad, beady eyes followed you everywhere.

Karolina was just in the shadowy corners for a quick breather. The painting was not what she'd expected to find.

"That... is a creepy painting."

"I think it may be cursed," Loki said, slowly swaying to make it keep sadly staring.
