Homecoming Dance 2013 | Town Hall | Saturday Evening | Post I

Oct 26, 2013 22:19

StuCo had pulled out all the stops decorating, reproductions of classical paintings and sculpture filling the town hall. It was only after they'd finished setting up that anyone had realised certain...flaws in this approach, but a little ingenuity and a lot of glitter later, no one would ever be able to tell they'd had some last minute redecorating ( Read more... )

Still more statues lined the entrance to the hall. Luckily they should draw no attention whatsoever.

Emma's dress wasn't especially fancy, but it fit and was a good colour for her so she was happy with it. Especially since getting all the glitter off had taken long enough that she'd needed to change quickly.

There was a lot of glitter. Flick couldn't say he was surprised but he knew he was going to be picking it out of his hair for awhile. And off his clothes.

He was still limping but he'd tossed the sling for the night and even managed to find a suit that fit and didn't look rumpled. With the bruises fading, he thought he might have even looked symmetrical tonight.

"You a secret fan of glitter?" he asked when he limped over to her. "There's a lot of it."

"You scrub up nice," Emma said, because she had to protect that ego of his. "There were some issues with the decorating."

Naked issues.

Come have your pictures taken against one of several very artistic backdrops.

If asked StuCo swears they already had the florescent glitter marker on them when they arrived.

"Come on!" Momoko pulled him with her, excited. "I want a picture! I want a picture of us together!"

"It's not enough that I got all dressed up and came along with you, you want a picture too?" Jaime teased.

"Yes! I have lots of pictures of you, and even a few with you dressed up, but not of us together!" Momoko reached for the backdrop, not sure if she wanted a pattern or a simple color. "It's important!"

Yet another bust watched over the food and (as yet unspiked) punch.

Hopefully that would the distract from the extremely artistic (and detailed) ice sculptures which despite StuCo's best efforts were the only glitter-free decorations in the hall.

Mira didn't mind glitter, but she really didn't want it getting all over her jacket. So don't mind her, she was going to be spending some time near the ice sculptures, even if the level of detail in them was a little frightening. Whoever made them was clearly very dedicated.

Atton was wearing--

Okay, Atton was wearing the same thing he always wore, and he'd bustled right past the whole 'entrance' part so he could grab some free food and look around for anyone else who might be interested in spiking the punch.

"Apparently our galaxy doesn't do well with dressing up for dances," Mira pointed out. She was in her regular clothes, too. Otherwise that comment wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense.

The dance-floor was free of art, thus providing entertainment and a refuge.

Liara tugged Karolina onto the dance floor. "I am... still not completely sure what I am doing," she admitted, embarrassment and amusement in her voice.

"Is anyone?" Karolina retorted. "I think most people are just shuffling anyway."

For the slow ones, anyway.

Sadly this usual refuge has also been invaded by very artistic, very glittery statuary.

Naturally, Cara was in the corners. It wasn't being unsociable when people knew they could find you there.

Even after all these years, this was the direction Ender gravitated towards. He took up position as far from the glittery stuff as he could (he had some glitter-related trauma) and watched the party from the sidelines.

Which was really convenient, since it meant that certain people knew where to find him if they came looking.

"Kiss kiss," Karla said, dimpling at him. "Hello, darling. You've been missed."
