Well, Jono was about as ready for today as he could possibly be. He'd been staring at the script for damn near a year, after all, and while circumstances last year hadn't been optimal for putting on a show, now was an entirely new theatre season, and it was time.

The letters on the marquis had been set, and the sign now read:

There's water, tea, and moddable pastries for you to enjoy while you wait for your turn with the director!

It's easy. Just get up onto the stage, introduce yourself (and perhaps let the director know if you're usually a male or a female), and then perform your monologue.

Remember, the more you act it up, the more Jono has to work with while casting you! Be descriptive thorough expressive!

Karina sort of hated everything this weekend. The one saving grace was that, so far, she hadn't been called by Agnes for work. She probably would have died trying to explain it and good luck getting Blue Rose's costume to fit...

If it hadn't been for auditions, she wouldn't have left the dorms all weekend. As it was, she gave the sign a dirty look at realizing she could have stayed in and waited until Wednesday to audition.

At least she had proper clothing now, Karina thought. The cold didn't bother her but she'd looked right stupid before getting new things to wear.

"Hey," she said, hands stuffed in her pockets and hoping like hell randomly being a boy wasn't going to count against her in the audition. Grudgingly she added, "It's Karina."

"Karina?" Jono looked momentarily baffled, and then another moment later, he nodded a little. "Headwiga? Apologies, luv, I'm usually better with names, but the one that Karla gave you in class the other week is... insidiously memorable."

He gave her an apologetic smile.

"Have you prepared a piece for today, Karina?"

... This was going to go fabulously, wasn't it? When the teacher couldn't even be bothered to remember her real name... ouch.

Karina gave him a faint smile anyway. Snapping now was a bad idea when she did want to be cast.

"I've got a piece prepared," she said simply.

For things that are not necessarily audition related, he's here too. And odds are, he needs more coffee.

Natalie didn't have any coffee, just a strange mood. And an unusually all-black outfit, the wrong colour eyes, and yeah, a male body. And it wasn't so certain that she'd identify herself correctly.

She'd already lied about it to one of the people she loved.

But she wasn't in a strange enough mood to audition, so she was just talking to Jono just because.

Well, Jono didn't mind random conversations. This weekend was full of them, coming from people that he didn't recognize, who apparently knew him.

Fandom.

"H'lo," he greeted with a nod and a quick tip of his mostly-empty coffee cup. "Apologies if I can't place your face right away. If you're a bloke, I've never seen you, and if you aren't, I'm fairly certain I only know all of three ladies on this island who don't have blonde hair."

He figured it was best to be forthcoming on weekends like this, too.

"Par for the course on these kinds of weekends," Natalie noted with a lopsided little smile. It came a little easier than usual, but she wasn't sure it was as sincere. "Fandom's like that."

Short and sweet audition OCD for the win!

Please, be descriptive with your character's performance of their monologue, so that I know what sort of job they actually did up there. Preference will be given to people who give more for me to work with, so it can't hurt to go through and show how your character acts out the whole thing.

If you don't have a monologue handy, poke me here OOCly or just have your character ask Jono ICly, and one will be chucked at you at random.
