Percy made sure to apologize for that when he went to get his gigantic hellhound but Mrs. O'Leary seemed to instantly forgive him when they got to the beach. "You know I tried my best to be friends with her," Luke said, coming up behind Percy. The beach wasn't really his thing but it was one of the first places he checked when bored. "I'm pretty sure she's always gonna hate me."

"Well, can you blame her?" Percy asked, glancing over his shoulder at Luke. "You were a jerk there for awhile. She holds grudges."

"Hey, technically I didn't do anything to her," Luke pointed out. "I was a jerk to a completely different hellhound."

"You do exist in her universe," Percy reminded him. "And you were a jerk there too, you know. She's not stupid and remembers your face."
