It wasn't that Jaye wanted to be out or anything. She wanted to be inside, away from the goats, watching whatever was on TV.

Instead, she was attempting to help a squirrel wrestle some notes away from a hungry goat. This should not be that difficult, and when she saw the new guy, she gave a little "Eh, hey, whatever" look as a hello because SHE JUST WANTED THESE NOTES, GOD DAMMIT.

"Hi. Having some issues?" Coulson asked, sounding vaguely interested.

[fates_jaye]

"No, no," she said, trying to sound disinterested while trying to kick a goat. "Just doing what I do every day. Rescuing notes from goats."

[firstnameagent]

"I was about to offer some help, but since you're so practiced at this, please, go on," Coulson said. "I could probably use some tips on getting things back from goats."

[fates_jaye]

"Well, good, because I'm an expert-"

And that would be when Jaye looked down in time to see the goat gobble up the squirrel.

"...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, YOU PSYCHO... GOAT?"

Not a lot of good goat-related insults.

"Sounds like that part's new," Coulson noted as he crossed his arms.

[fates_jaye]

"Do you think goats normally swallow radio squirrels?" Jaye asked, kicking at the goat again. "GIVE ME BACK THAT SQUIRREL, HE HAS TO REDO THESE NOTES."

[firstnameagent]

"No idea. But I also didn't know that squirrels went on the radio," Coulson admitted.

[fates_jaye]

"They don't. They write the notes for it," she said in a duh voice.

[firstnameagent]

"Of course. In English, or do you read the language of the squirrels?" Coulson checked.

[fates_jaye]

"In English, what do I look like?" she said.

The goat bleated something at her and ran off, leaving her to yell, "I WANT MY SQUIRREL BACK. HE WAS TWO WEEKS FROM RETIREMENT."

"What kind of retirement plan do they get?" Coulson asked.

[fates_jaye]

"Rum."

What?

[firstnameagent]

"Sounds reasonable," Coulson said. "So what's the real deal with the goat? Sorry, but I just don't believe you're a goat wrestler."

[fates_jaye]

Jaye shrugged. "I guess we have goats today. They'll probably be gone tomorrow," she said. "Hey, do you want to spy on the people in town here, write down what they're doing, and turn the notes in to the radio station? I'm down a guy."

She hadn't even asked this guy's name.

"Does it pay in rum?" Coulson checked as he considered the offer.

What? He was looking for a job.
