The Park [Monday afternoon]

Mar 19, 2012 13:56

It wasn't often that Dany ventured off of the school grounds without her silver, but today she was on a mission, in a way. With her in the park today were the three dragons, because as loathe as she was to admit it, they were growing far too large for the dorms. They didn't all three fit into their basket anymore, and had begun to climb up onto the ( Read more... )

Raven had gone out for a walk herself in an attempt to clear her thoughts. As she passed through the park, she spotted Dany and her dragons and had to pause and watch, fascinated.

"Hello, Daenerys," she said. "Your dragons have grown so much."

Dany glanced up from where she was trying to tease Rhaegal into flight by waving her fingers, and turned that into a wave to Raven. "Good afternoon, Raven." She looked back down at the dragons with a slight sigh. "I do wish them to be bigger, but I somewhat long for the days when they could ride on my shoulder easily. It's frightening, how the time passes."

"It is," Raven murmured in agreement, pushing down her own anxieties about the passage of time before they could reach her face.

"How much bigger will they become?" she asked curiously.

"Hard to say," Dany replied, smiling slightly, though it was still proud. "My ancestors rode their dragons, though. So...safe to assume very large. There are skeletons at home, though I've never seen them. My brother told me they were large as houses."

Tara was on her way through the park, bag of groceries in one hand. she craned her neck backwards when she spotted the dragons.

"... they can fly," she gawked, then pinkened. "Er. You ... probably knew that. Hi."

"They're certainly trying," Dany replied with a laugh. "Hello. It's all right -- they've been surprising me, too."

"You think you're used to this island, then boom, tiny dragons," Tara sighed, then considered it again. "Dragon-lets? Dragonlings? They're beautiful."

"Oh, I like the term dragonlings," Dany said, her smile widening. "It's deceptively adorable. And thank you...Tara? Is that right? I fear we've never spoken, or my memory is awful, today."

Although Firekeeper and Blind Seer spent a lot of time outdoors, it was generally in the vicinity of the preserve rather than the park. Still, sometimes one just felt like running, and an open space like the park was a good place for that.

"Daenerys, hello," she greeted, slightly out of breath. Blind Seer was looking rather smug about having won the race once again- an easy feat, when one had four legs instead of merely two. Hello, little ones, she added to the dragons. Not as little as they'd been the last time she'd seen them, though.

The dragons all gleefully returned the greeting, immediately distracted from their attempts at flight. They bounded over, though Drogon, for his party, did flutter into the air for a moment.

"Have you been racing?" Dany asked with some amusement.

"Yes," Firekeeper confirmed, aiming a scowl and a playful shove at Blind Seer's shoulder before turning her attention to the dragons. "He win, as always. But only because he have twice as many feet to run with."

So strong and clever, she praised Drogon, seeing that attempt at flight. Can you do the same as your brother? she asked of the other two.

"That doesn't seem fair," Dany commented, grinning as Rhaegal and Viserion attempted to flutter up into the air. Neither got as high as Drogon, but they were obviously pleased with themselves, all the same.

Loki whistled appreciatively, watching the dragons. A magpie cawed from its spot on his shoulder, almost as though in agreement. "Good afternoon, dear Daenerys!"

"And to you, my dear Look," she answered, raising a brow at the magpie. "Who is your companion?"

"His name is Ikol." Because Loki thought himself clever. "He is my pet."

In a manner of speaking.
