"Tell me about it," Annie said, folding her arms right back. "Well... the first couple weren't bad. No offense." At least this girl was nice to look at and why was she thinking that, this was all Loki's fault really.

"Pretty well. Got to meet a couple of new people, reconnected with a couple I haven't talked to in a while," Bruce said. "Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with things tonight. How about you? First time going well?"

"A little strange, but not bad," Mercy said. "Everyone seems particularly... I don't know... flirtatious, maybe?

She glanced around the room, scenting all the arousal, which was only adding to the odd way she felt. "Is this normal here?"

"At a speed dating event?" Bruce asked. "That's pretty typical. You flirt hard and see if the other party is interested. It's pretty much the only way to get a reasonable date in three minutes."

"Not my strong suite, I guess," Mercy said. "I kind of prefer to get to know someone a little more long term. But not a bad way to find out if you're interested in getting to know someone better, I guess."
